The
Mind Blind
Steven Lester
In what season produces the greatest
reason
that soils mens morals, and that dooms
to whitened tombs
Earthly passions and fleshly beauty,
that draw, weaken and seduce me
Please listen that these vices are not
the most damnable devices
They are only the apparent sins, that
fill up reasons lens
The serpent becries, “Here sin lies.”
Only to disguise, the real demise.
There is on the mind a veil, that
brags, “My good works prevail.”
Yet to fix our sight on the law of
light, will give condemnation to our motivation
For we keep the law near, only out of
soulish fear
And only hold the holy creed, as a
result of Adamic greed.
Loving the law of the Lord is in hope
of receiving reward
and living the commandment is
accomplished through fear of punishment.
Our works then are tainted, corruptly
motivated
This reveals the blackness of the will,
that darkned heart will our best works kill
Leaving us in a bitter state, full of
good works that God does hate
because its not what good we have done,
its about serving him with the love of a son.
So when you believe your obeing the
Heavenly calling, the fact is you have already fallen
It is not of the devil, but fleshly
revel, of greed and fear an ethic bind, not for love and sonship of
our King divine
No other reason I find, that keeps the
mind blind
